Racket in selling pirated film DVDs, CDs busted

Two persons arrested

MYSORE: The City Crime Branch (CCB) and the Special Police have busted a racket in selling pirated film Digital Versatile Discs (DVDs) and Compact Discs (CDs) by arresting two persons during separate raids here. They seized 475 pirated DVDs and CDs worth Rs. 50,000 from their shops.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police G Vijaykumar raided M.S. Video Shop at Kurabageri, 2nd Cross, K .T. Street, and arrested Lingaraju. The police team recovered 210 pirated DVDs and CDs from the shop and booked a case against the accused.

In another raid, a team of the Special Police led by Inspector M. Shivakumar seized pirated 265 DVDs and CDs being sold on Chandragupta Road. They arrested Nayaz in this connection.
