Clarification

With reference to the report “’Lapses’ in process to fix land value” published on November 14, A.G. Pai, Chief Operating Officer, Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd., has clarified as follows: “About Rs. 23 lakh per acre will be reaching the Project Displaced Families (PDFs) as a package, which is essentially designed to improve the socio-economic conditions of the PDFs.

Landlord gets land cost only whereas the PDFs will get the entire package to help them get rehabilitated and resettled, get training and/or job and various allowances mentioned in the package.”
