THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Skanda Purana Maha Yagnam being organised by the Sree Devivilasom Hindu Matha Convention at Chettikulangara temple at Mavelikara will begin on November 28. This is the 18th such yagnam to be conducted at the temple. This was announced at a press conference here on Wednesday by the head of the ruling family of erstwhile Travancore Uthradom Tirunal Marthanda Varma, who is one of the chief patrons of the event. With the completion of the yagnam, the temple will become the first religious institution where 18 maha yagnas were held during the ‘Kali yuga,’ the organisers said. The yagnam will be inaugurated by SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan.
