‘Planning important to achieve success’

Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: It is imperative for students to strike a balance between their academics and participation in co-curricular activities, Deputy Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao has said.

Inaugurating the maiden edition of The Hindu Young World Fest, organised in association with Corporation Bank here on Tuesday, Mr. Rao said students had a lot of attraction in life and the manner in which they give priority to each activity is most important.

Advising students to draw up a timetable for each activity such as games, studies and entertainment, Mr. Rao said this would stand them in good stead in the future.

Noting that planning and time management would help students to deal with various tasks on hand in an effective manner. Mr. Rao also requested parents and teachers to channelise the creative energies of their wards. “Encourage your children to excel,” he said.

Projects

In a special word of appreciation for The Hindu for organising an event for students to showcase their talent, Mr. Rao advised them to make the best possible use of every such opportunity that came their way. Mr. Rao also requested The Hindu to take up such useful projects for the students in the form of career counselling sessions and job fairs and promised full support from the administration for such endeavours.
