Srinagar: Militants hurled a grenade at the house of a former Minister and independent MLA, Usman Majid, in Bandipora district but there was no loss of life or damage to property, police said on Thursday. The grenade fell short of the residence of Mr. Majid and exploded with a big bang at Mader Bandipora, 55 km from here on Wednesday, they said. However, there was no loss of life or damage to property in the incident. Mr. Majid served as a Minister in the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed-led coalition government between 2002 and 2005. Police have registered a case and launched investigations, they said. — PTI
