BHUBANESWAR: New Delhi-based Sanatan Sangeet Sanskriti (SSS), a forum for promotion of Indian arts and cultural heritage set up by the Rai Foundation, in association with the city-based ‘Prakrit’ cultural organisation will host an evening of Indian classical and dance and music at Jayadev Bhawan here on Monday. Briefing the newsmen, Prakrit coordinator Poly Patnaik and SSS representative and New Delhi-based Odissi dancer Reela Hota said the event aims at inculcating a sense of appreciation among the new generation for the country’s ancient tradition, heritage and culture. SSS offers 30 scholarships to poor girls every year to pursue art, music and dance, Reela added. New Delhi-based Kathak dancer couple Abhimanyu Lal and Vidha Lal will perform besides Reela, Lingaraj Pradhan and Amulya Balbantray. Also, Hindustani classical artist Sangeeta Katti Kulkarni would perform Governor M.C. Bhandare would inaugurate the event.
