City-based magician Gopinath Muthukad’s mission to promote magic as an instrument of love, harmony and national unity has taken him to almost every part of the country from icy mountains to humid plains, remote villages to bustling towns and strife-torn areas to culturally rich regions. Now on a “magical journey” from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Mr. Muthukad and his team completed the North Indian leg of the Vismaya Swaraj Yatra at Orissa on Thursday. He staged a magic performance before Governor Muralidhar Chandrakant Bhandare at the Raj Bhavan. The Governor appreciated the efforts of the team in carrying the message of Gandhiji and national integration to the masses. The team was also presented with a memento on the Konark Soorya Chakra, the State’s cultural emblem. The magic tour will reach Kanyakumari on November 30 after touring Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Chennai, Tiruchirapalli and Madurai. T. Nandakumar
