Inauguration: Bharathi Teertha Swamiji in Sagar on Thursday. SAGAR: Bharathi Teertha Swamiji of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham said here on Thursday that it was wrong to think that money and power alone could bring peace and happiness in life. “It is necessary to see whether the happiness gained through money and power is momentary or permanent.” Speaking after laying the foundation stone of the Shankara Complex on the premises of the local branch of the Shankar Math, he said it was only the Vedas and philosophy that could bring eternal peace and happiness. The swamiji said that the land where religion was held in high esteem would always be endowed with prosperity and progress. He advised people to adhere to time-tested values. Ashwinikumar, secretary of the local branch of the Sringeri Math, spoke. Beluru Gopalakrishna, MLA, felicitated the swamiji. Thirteen Vedic scholars and administrator of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham Gauri Shankar were honoured by the swamiji on the occasion. Chairman of the reception committee K. Diwakar, the former MLA L.T. Thimmappa Hegde, S.R. Thimmappa, Ravi Kugve, Sharavathi C. Rao, Chippalli Gopalakrishna Rao, member of the zilla panchayat B.R. Jayanth, “Tip Top” Basheer and Mohammad Sakhafi were present. I.N. Suresh Babu welcomed.
