Software engineer robbed

BANGALORE: Armed men waylaid a software engineer and robbed him of gold ornaments, a mobile phone and cash in MICO Layout police station limits on Tuesday. The police said that around 10.30 p.m., three men stopped Srikanth while he was walking on 17th Main, 1st Stage, BTM. They punched him on the face and robbed him of Rs. 300 cash, a gold chain, a bracelet and a mobile phone. On a complaint by Srikanth, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, the MICO Layout police have registered a case.

A 12-year-old boy, a Class VII student, was killed after he was run over by an earthmover in K.R. Puram traffic police station limits on Tuesday night. The police said that around 7 p.m., while taking a U-turn at Kundalahalli Colony, the earthmover ran over Shivana Gowda, son of a migrant construction worker from Raichur. The K.R. Puram traffic police have seized the earthmover and are on the lookout for its driver who ran away after the accident.

Following alleged harassment by her husband, Shashikala (22) committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Srigandhanagar in Rajagopalanagar police station limits on Tuesday.

The police said Shashikala had married Ravi, an electrician, 18 months ago.
