Funds sanctioned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to sanction sufficient funds to clear the arrears in education benefits payable to children of fishermen. Nearly 80,000 children will immediately receive the arrears by way of grant, hostel fees and tuition fees, Fisheries Minister’s office said in a press release on Thursday. A sum of Rs.4.5 crore would be sanctioned by the Finance Department for this purpose. —Special Correspondent
