Headmaster held for ‘rape’ of student

SANGAREDDY: A sixteen-year-old student of the Narayankhed Government School along with her parents and members of the Kulavivaksha Vyatireka Porata Sangham met Medak SP R. B. Nayak on Thursday and demanded the arrest of the headmaster of a primary school, alleging that he had unlawfully confined her to a room for three days and raped her.

According to the girl, the headmaster of the Government school in Peerla Tanda under Abbenda village, Simon (26), had been pestering her to marry him since the last five months.

The accused reportedly raped the girl one day after inviting her to his friend’s room and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to anyone.

After promising her that he would eventually marry her, Simon continued to exploit the girl sexually and confined her illegally.

Rude shock

The girl’s parents eventually came to know about the whereabouts of Simon and caught him with the girl. However, the parents of the girl received a rude shock when the Narayankhed Circle inspector Chatur Singh Rathod refused to register a case and tried for a compromise.

After waiting for a whole day at the police station, the dejected family sought the help of the KVPS and met the SP.

The SP assured action against the headmaster and sent the girl for medical examination.

The accused was arrested by the Narayankhed police immediately after the SP’s assurance.
