Haryana for giving greater facilities to industries: Hooda

NEW DELHI: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here on Thursday that his regime was taking all possible steps to provide a better infrastructure and greater facilities to industries to create an industrial-friendly climate.

Talking to visiting newspersons from Chandigarh at the Haryana Pavilion inside the ongoing India International Trade Fair at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, he said Haryana had secured the first position in the country in terms of per capita income and investment, milk production and manufacture of cars, cycles and motorcycles.

Claiming that the Haryana Pavilion was the most visited pavilion at IITF-2007, he said the State had taken up industrialisation as a major tool for achieving socio-economic development.

Mr. Hooda said the Haryana Pavilion showcased the rapid progress made by his government in all spheres ranging from agriculture to horticulture to rapid industrialisation.

Meanwhile, presiding over Haryana Day celebrations at Pragati Maidan on Wednesday evening, Mr. Hooda awarded entrepreneurs who have excelled in exports from the State. In the category of large and medium scale units, the first prize of Rs.25,000 was awarded to Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar; the second prize of Rs.15,000 to Hero Honda Motors, Dharuhera; and the third prize of Rs.10,000 to G. E. Motors (India) Private Limited, Faridabad.

Among small-scale units, the first prize of Rs.25,000 was awarded to Lekhraj Narender Kumar of Kaithal; the second prize of Rs.15,000 to Magpie Exports, Kundli; and the third prize of Rs.10,000 to Phase Three Limited.

A colourful cultural programme depicting Haryana’s rich culture was also presented.
