All set for growth at a faster rate, says MLA D. Amaramoorthy
The State Government’s decision on re-bifurcating the Perambalur district with Ariyalur as the headquarters is a dream comes true for the people in and around Ariyalur. The Ariyalur MLA D. Amaramoorthy (Congress) hails the bifurcation as a first step towards achieving overall development.
He specifically points out that being a small district spread over three taluks, the district is poised to get additional infrastructural facilities.
The scope for development in the educational and industrial scenario is also bright. With the bifurcation process coinciding with the execution of another much-delayed Jayamkondam Lignite Power Project (JLPP), ‘the new district is poised to development at a faster rate,” he says.
The Ariyalur Traders’ Welfare Association K. Rajapandian points out that the bifurcation would benefit people of every walk of life.
The economic status of the villagers would also improve due to implementation of several schemes. Trade and commerce would register a growth.
An exclusive forum ‘Ariyalur District Retrieval Committee’ was floated to fight for the restoration of the district status for Ariyalur.
Its Convenor, S. Balakrishnan says that a majority of the population of the district belonged to backward and most backward communities.
