Seizure of explosive material: one more held
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: One more person has been arrested by the ‘Q’ Branch in connection with the seizure of a chemical substance from a mini-lorry near Paramakudi on Sunday.
The police gave his name as Sekar (52) of Rameswaram. He has been remanded to judicial custody, a police officer said. Earlier, Subramani (29), a lorry driver from Rameswaram, was arrested.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Sekar had arranged the transport for carrying the chemical, weighing about 2500 kg, from Madurai to Rameswaram.
The consignment was allegedly meant to be smuggled into Sri Lanka.
