Non-bailable warrant issued against Commissioner

GUNTUR: District Consumer Forum president Chukka Rachel Devavaram on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Repalle in-charge Municipal Commissioner J. V. R. K. Anjaneya Sarma for not complying with an order to supply drinking water to a housing society in Repalle town. Consumer Forum in an order dated March 13, 2004 directed the in-charge Commissioner to take measures for drinking water supply to Repalle Housing Board Colony Development and Welfare Society.
Later, the colony members sought the intervention of the District Consumer Forum for supply of drinking water.
However, the municipality had not responded to the directives before November 19. On Thursday, the forum issued the directives through the Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha to arrest the in-charge Municipal Commissioner and produce him before the District Consumer Forum before December 21, 2007.
