Stall Girls School completes 100 years

GUNTUR: The centenary celebrations of Sylvanus Stall Girls High School began on Thursday with cultural programmes. Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church president V.M. Christopher inaugurated the three day fete.
The school was established in 1907 by Sylvanus Stall, an American Missionary and philanthropist with aim to educate girl students.
It was with a princely sum of 10,000 dollars, the school opened its doors to secondary education to students. A variety of cultural programmes performed by the school children lit up a glittering evening.
School correspondent M.H. Bharathi in her report said that the students excelled in academic activities as well as extra-curricular activities.
A tablet marking the centenary celebrations was unveiled by Mr. Christopher. The tablet was set up on the campus in memory of Rudramalla Abrahamdas, who had served as a junior assistant in the school, by his son R. Ananda Mohan.
