Sharanath wins title

TIRUCHI: S. Sharanath of Campion AI HSS and A. Jayakrithika of Mahatma Gandhi Centenary Vidyalaya won the senior boys’ and girls’ title respectively at the District-level badminton tournament, conducted by the Kamala Niketan Montessori School, here on Wednesday.

The results (all finals): Senior boys (Singles): Sharanath bt Harshanarthanan (KAPV) 21-12, 21-7; Doubles: Saravanan-Nandeesh (Campion) bt Saravanakumar-Srinivasan (Kamala Niketan) 21-19, 21-16.

Junior (Singles): Gokulakrishnan (RSK HSS) bt T. Viswanathan (Campion) 21-8, 21-8; Doubles: Nilesh N. Patel- Ajay (Kamala Niketan) bt Naazem-Harish (Kamala Niketan) 23-21, 21-17.

Senior girls (Singles): Jayakrithika bt Subiksha (Kamala Niketan) 21-9, 21-12; Doubles: Sukanya Devi-Arul Annis Christy (Amala Girls HSS) bt Nivedha-Shereen Backer (St. Joseph’ AI GHSS) 23-21, 21-14.

Junior (Singles): Sivasankari (Amala GHSS) bt Shylanthi Sanjika Jane (St. James MHSS) 21-8, 21-14; Doubles: Rani-Supriya (SBIOA) bt Shobana-Yashini (Kamala Niketan) 21-12, 21-19.

Selection trials
