Bangalore: A uniform coaching paradigm in Indian hockey cutting across various age-groups was stressed upon during the course of a one-day coaches’ clinic on the SAI Southern Centre campus here on Thursday. “This is the first time a meeting of this nature was held to help coaches and other support staff express their opinions for improving Indian hockey. We are looking at uniform standards in coaching across various age groups. “We also discussed issues like infrastructure, equipment and sharing information among coaches,” said Joaquim Carvalho, Indian hockey team’s chief coach. The members who attended the meeting were: M.M. Somaiyya, Joaquim Carvalho, M.P. Singh, Ramesh Parameswaran, A.K. Bansal (chief coach, u-21), R. Mishra (chief coach, u-18), Samsud Zoha (coach), Gundeep Kumar (chief coach, u-16), Thlenga (coach), Basantha (coach), Devesh Chauhan (goal-keeping coach), Prabhakar (special invitee-SAI, Bangalore), Ganguly Prasad (physical trainer), Srikanth Iyengar (physio) and Narendra (video analyst).
