‘65 foreigners deported from Goa’

Panaji: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Jayprakash Jaiswal on Wednesday said that 65 foreigners had been deported from Goa in the last five years.
In a written reply to senior Congress leader Shantaram Naik in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Jaiswal stated that out of the 65 foreigners, 56 were deported for visa/passport and other related violations, while the other nine were deported for various offences under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and or the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
