Gang of four-wheeler lifters busted

Mathura: An inter-state gang of four-wheeler lifters has been busted and two vehicles along with arms and bogus registration papers recovered from them, police said on Thursday.

Six members of the gang have been arrested while the hunt for four others is still on, they said adding that a revolver, a rifle, a master key for unlocking any vehicle, one wireless set and bogus registration papers and seal have been recovered from their possession.

The gang which has so far lifted over 100 costly vehicles including Boleros and Scorpios, most of them from Lucknow and the rest from different districts, sold them in Bihar and Assam for Rs.50,000 to Rs.100,000, they said.
