35 huts gutted

All is lost: Residents of Sri Nagar in Pichampalayam Pudur in Tirupur searching for their belongings after their huts were gutted on Thursday. –
TIRUPUR: Thirty-five huts of migrant garment workers were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out early on Thursday at Sri Nagar in Pichampalayam Pudur, here. Though all the residents of huts escaped unhurt, they lost all their belongings. A car, which was parked nearby also was burnt. The residents were all tenants and the land belonged to a private party, sources said. Revenue officials gave cash relief to those who lost their houses.
