16 injured as mini bus rams house

TIRUPUR: Sixteen people, including a child, were injured when a minibus rammed a house here on Thursday.
The police said that the speeding bus from Kallangadu dashed against the wall of the house while negotiating a curve. Negligence of the driver caused the accident, the police said.Eight of the injured have been admitted to Tirupur Government Hospital. The police arrested bus driver Sakthivel (32) of Theni, who joined duty a week ago. Consumer forums here have been demanding the transport authorities to curb the speed of minibuses and check their fitness.
They said crew of most of the mini buses, were inexperienced youth.
A couple of days ago, a school girl and several others travelling in a minibus were injured in an accident.
