Court stays shop auctions
Hyderabad: Justice P. S. Narayana of the High Court on Thursday ordered status quo and stay of all further proceedings pertaining to auction of shops by the Srisailam Devasthanams. These orders were passed in a writ petition filed by Sikender Pasha who complained that the E.O. had indulged in favouritism and refused permission to him to participate in the auction.
He said when the last year’s bid for collection of hair offered by the pilgrims was Rs. 2 cr, the present bid of Rs. 78 lakh was accepted. Several irregularities and violation of rules were pointed out.
The judge asked for records and stayed further proceedings.
