ISLAMABAD: ARY One World, shut down by the Dubai authorities last week, resumed operations on Thursday night in Pakistan after the Musharraf regime lifted a ban on the private television channel. A statement from ARY did not give details of its agreement with the Pakistan government or with the Dubai Media Authority, but only said that the ARY One World channel had resumed transmission from Dubai. “We will keep our mission of informing with a new zeal as before,” ARY CEO Salman Iqbal said. One of the reported government conditions for allowing the channel back on air was the axing of a talk show hosted by senior journalist Kashif Abbasi but the anchor said he did not know whether his programme had been pulled or not.
