Manohar excels

VIJAYAWADA: Guntur’s Manohar (five for nine) restricted West Godavari to 73 in 25 overs in the ACA Central Zone under-13 inter-district cricket tournament, for the R.M.V. Narasimha Rao memorial Trophy, at Guntur on Thursday. In reply, Guntur was 275 for four in 73 overs.

The scores: West Godavari 73 in 25 overs (Gangadhar 41, Manohar five for nine, Srikrishna three for 23) vs. Guntur 275 for four in 73 overs (Akhil 74, Srikrishna 71, Ravi Teja 52).

Krishna 177 in 73 overs (Rajesh 47, Mythreya four for 18) vs. Prakasam 38 for two in 20 overs.

Narrow win for SSTC

SSTC School registered a narrow one-wicket victory over Ganguru’s Nobel English Medium High School in the KDCA inter-school league cricket tournament, for the Nori Sivaramakrishna memorial Trophy, here on Thursday.

The scores: Nobel EMS (Ganguru) 89 in 24.5 overs (Lavin four for 19, Mahesh three for 11) lost to SSTC School 90 for nine in 29.1 overs (Siddiq five for 36, Ajay three for 10).

Goutham PS 161 in 45.4 overs (Bhavani four for 35, Chandrasekhar three for 43) bt Ideal PS 46 in 17.4 overs (P. Sai Kumar four for five, Ashok four for 19).

VPS PS 153 in 45.3 overs (Ravi Teja six for 32) bt SDMYRR School 42 in 16.3 overs (Darnesh seven for 13).

Chess squad

P. Tejesh, Yashwanth Sai, G. Lasya, K. Sushma will represent Krishna district in the State under-13 chess selection tournament to be held at Bhimavaram (West Godavari) on December 1 and 2, according to Krishna District Chess Association secretary Srihari here on Thursday.

Varsity volleyball draws

The draws made for the South Zone inter-university volleyball tournament for men, to be hosted by Andhra University in Visakhapatnam from December 6 to 11, along with other details of the tournament can be accessed at www.andhrauniversity.info.
