Alliance Francaise launches newsletter

PUDUCHERRY: The Alliance Francaise of Pondicherry has launched a brand new monthly newsletter La Lettre de l’Alliance. The newsletter will contain details of cultural events, films, and meet-the-author programmes.

A press release here said that on Saturday at 4.15 p.m. the film ‘La chasse au lion a l’arc’ would be screened, and at 6.15 p.m. on the same day ‘Petit a petit’, shot in 1959, will be screened.

Professor Singaravelou, President of Bordeaux 3 University, will speak, and answer questions from the audience about the European Union on November 30 at 6.30 pm, the release added. The newsletter also said that a regular reading workshop organised by Marie Paule Hutin, teacher at the Lycee Francaise, would be held every month. The library has more than 400 books.

A group of teachers of the Lycee, the Alliance Francaise and Pondicherry University gathers at a theatre workshop, organised by Alberto Crespo, also a teacher at the Lycee Francaise. A dance workshop on modern jazz is being organised by dance teacher Eliance Hayon for teenagers. A special tailor-made French course is being organised for 35 students of the Pondicherry Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Programmes that were held at the Alliance Francaise include a screening of a DVD on Water Management in South India.
