Jewellery, electronic goods looted from house

BANGALORE: Burglars struck at a software engineer’s house in Vidyaranyapura police station limits on Wednesday and made away with gold and diamond jewellery, cameras and other electronic goods, all worth Rs. 4 lakh.
The police said the theft took place between 9.30 a.m. and midnight at Tarun Jaggi’s house on 7th Cross, 7th Main, Nanjappa Lane, Vidyaranyapura. The thieves entered the house by breaking the door in the balcony.
The incident came to light around midnight when Tarun returned home from his workplace at Sadashivanagar. His parents had been Visakhapatnam, the police said.
The Vidyaranyapura police have registered a case.
Chains snatched
Two women were robbed of their gold chains in as many incidents in the city on Wednesday night.
The police said that around 10.30 p.m., a youth came from behind and snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 75,000 from Geetha Subba Rao near a kalyana mantapa near Jayadeva Hospital on Bannerghatta Road.
The incident took place when Geetha of Vidyaranyapura, who had come to the kalyana mantapa to attend a function, was walking towards her car.
