Nurse used as tool, says MLA

Staff Correspondent

‘Jayalakshmi was used to undermine my prestige’

MLA says the nurse was forced to level allegations

Says Deve Gowda’s family wanted to finish him off

DAVANGERE: M.P. Renukacharya, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Honnali, on Friday has alleged the family of the former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president H.D. Deve Gowda had planted a fabricated story on him and instigated Jayalakshmi, a nurse, to level baseless allegations against him in a bid to divert public attention.

Mr. Renukacharya alleged that Mr. Deve Gowda’s family, through an excise contractor of Holenarasipur, had forced Ms. Jayalakshmi to level allegations against him and the nurse was also forced to enact a drama of suicide. The other intention of the Mr. Deve Gowda’s family was to finish me off politically, he said.

‘Fabricated’

“They fabricated a neatly woven story and using Ms. Jayalakshmi as a tool, they tried to undermine my prestige by evoking unnecessary issues. Ms. Jayalakshmi narrated all this over telephone a few days ago,” Mr. Renukacharya said.

The MLA said he would soon come out with more details on this issue.
