DA sanctioned

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has sanctioned six per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to service pensioners. Those who retired in or after July 2007 from government service, aided schools, private colleges, polytechnics, contingent service and local bodies are eligible for the DA. The order will be effective from July 1, 2007. With this, the total DA of pensioners has gone up to 32 per cent. The revised DA will be given with the pension for December onwards. The arrears from July to November will also be given with the pension for December. — Special Correspondent
