dated November 24, 1957: Joint endeavour

The State Trading Corporation would shortly invite private firms and companies to become its “business associates” in order to help in the efforts to find new markets and expand exports, Mr. Nityanand Kanungo, Minister for Commerce, told in the Lok Sabha on November 22. The branches of export trade where such association would be invited are: oils, soaps, pepper, textiles, hides and skins, cashew nuts and tea. No list of firms which would be invited to become associates had been drawn up but the Corporation would only negotiate with such firms as were willing, keen, experienced and capable of participating in the proposed joint endeavour to augment the country’s exports.
