CHANDIGARH: Infiltration attempts into Jammu and Kashmir have increased in the wake of the recent political unrest in Pakistan, Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor said on Friday. “The trend in infiltration from the other side has increased,” General Kapoor said when asked to give his assessment of the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the developments in Pakistan. He, however, said that the situation was under control. “We want that stability should return to Pakistan,” he said, adding “it is important that there should be peace in Pakistan.” The Army chief was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a national conference on ‘Changing dimensions of International Security: Implications for India’, organised by the Punjab University as part of its Diamond jubilee year celebrations here. - PTI
