White paper on disinvestment
NEW DELHI: The Centre has garnered over Rs. 51,608 crore through disinvestment of its equity in Central public sector enterprises (CPSEs) and strategic sale of state-owned companies since the sell-off policy inception in 1991.
The ‘White Paper on Disinvestment of CPSEs’, tabled in Parliament on Friday, said: “The total realisation from the strategic sale transactions was Rs. 6,344.35 crore, which is around one-tenth of the total amount of Rs. 51,608.80 crore raised from disinvestment till July 31, 2007.”
