Mining lease: High Court directive to officials

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday directed the Secretaries of the Departments of Mines and of Forests, Environment and Ecology to be present in court on the next date of hearing. The court passed the order while hearing a petition on grant of mining leases by the State Government in Kumaraswamy Range of Sandur taluk in Bellary district.

Justice D.V. Shylendra Kumar directed the Secretaries of both departments to be present in court on November 30 along with a report on the area by National Environmental Engineering Research Institute. .
