Country-made guns, bullets seized; nine held

THENI: Nine persons were arrested from Karunakkamuthanpatti village near Goodalur and the reserve forests nearby on Friday on charges of hiding weapons and possessing weapons and ammunition without licence.

The arrested were identified as Sonai (46), Suruliappan (54), Suruli (59), Easwaran and Paraman (41), all belonging to Karunakkamuthanpatti village, Mani (40), Ganga (26) Murugan (46) and Mathiazhagan (38) of K.C. Patti.

The team seized six country-made guns, an air gun, four bullets and a headlight.
