Suicide by IIT girl shocks family
Staff Reporter
NALGONDA: The news about the alleged suicide of Damuluri Srilatha, 21, an M.Tech final year student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, in her hostel room has come as a rude shock to her family members and friends in her native village Sarvaram of Mothey mandal in Nalgonda district.
“Something is fishy. She is a brilliant and brave girl. She is not the type who would commit suicide,” M. Sreenu, a relative of Srilatha, told The Hindu on Friday night. A girl from Guwahati called up her father to inform that she had found her dead in her room on Thursday night. Srilatha reportedly preferred to stay back in her room by skipping the dinner.
