Collector wants Indiramma speeded up
Staff Reporter
Kakinada: Collector M. Subrahmanyam has suggested to the mandal development officers (MDOs) to give priority to Indiramma housing scheme under which the government sought to help the poor have own houses. The officials should also focus on Rajiv Arogyasri scheme, the second phase of which is scheduled to be inaugurated at Panduru in the district by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on December 5.
Addressing the MDOs at a review meeting at the Collectorate here on Saturday, Mr. Subrahmanyam said levelling of the house sites allotted under Indiramma should be completed in two weeks so that the scheme could be expedited. Proposals for additional funds should be submitted immediately to avoid delays.
The MDOs should play a key role in implementing the scheme as also other officials concerned.
The Collector said a screening camp would be conducted for those intending to avail themselves of the Arogyasri scheme at JNTU Engineering College grounds here on December 4.
The MDOs and other mandal-level officials were asked to make necessary arrangements and ensure that the scheme benefited the needy. RTC buses would be operated from each mandal.
