U.P. denies receiving any warning

Special Correspondent

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday denied that it had been forewarned by the Central intelligence agencies of a terrorist attack in some cities of the State.

The State Principal Secretary, Home, J.N. Chamber, told mediapersons here that the government had received no specific advisory from the Intelligence Bureau pointing at the possibility of terror attacks in the State.

Mr. Chamber said the statement of Chief Minister Mayawati was based on facts.

On Friday she cited the failure of the Central intelligence agencies in apprehending the terror attack.
