Breezy entertainer
MERRY RIDE: A still form Takkari
Film: Takkari
Cast: Nitin, Sada,
Sayaji Shinde
Director: Amma Rajashekar
It feels good to watch Nitin on screen after a hiatus and this one starts very well as a typical mass flick.Director Amma Rajashekar dishes out a freaky entertainer where you can’t figure out how one can fall in love in a weird way.
The plot is not new but the pleasurable silliness is it’s strength. Sada looks painfully slim passably competent and post-interval, gives a mild emotional spin to a couple of scenes. Nitin courts frivolity without falling flat on it’s face, like buying all the tickets in the bus and selling it back to the passengers in black.
His comic timing and energy are eminently endearing. Ali bores you, Venu has you in splits, Raghu Babu’s expressions have now become predictable. Sayaji’s role is monotonous .
There is nothing great about the film but it’s just that the treatment looks fresh and almost all the songs capture interest. Chandramohan is natural and Sudha makes you wonder if she dubs for Suhasini or if Suhasini has dubbed for her. Marudhuri Raja’s dialogues are lengthy.
Takkari looks to be exactly what it promises to be-Nitin’s return to form. After watching a series of blood and gore, Takkari could be light on your eyes.
