JAIPUR: Public relations practitioners and corporate affairs experts participating in a convention on “PR in business”, which ended here on Saturday, called for evolving a fine balance between business expansion needs and ethics to add value to brand image, development human resources and promote growth. The two-day convention, titled “Enterprise: Adding value”, was organised by the Bangalore-based Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in association with Rajasthan University’s Centre for Mass Communication. ConventionNew horizons and prospects in PR and communication were identified at the convention, while the participants affirmed that public relations was an art for value addition to products and services. Deputy Chairman of Rajasthan Government’s Economic Policy and Reforms Council, Harishankar Bhabhra, inaugurating the convention said the facts communicated to consumers should be based on truth and integrity and benefit both the institution and the public. He said the common people should be involved in the pursuit to promote brands and products. Vice-Chancellor of Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota, Naresh Dadhich, said the erosion of values in the corporate sector should be checked and the expectations of “the last man on the street” fulfilled.
