U.S. caution

K. Srinivas Reddy

HYDERABAD: The U.S. Embassy here has asked all Americans in India to be ‘vigilant’ in view of the serial bomb explosions in Uttar Pradesh.

The ‘Warden Message’ posted on the U.S. Embassy web site on Saturday asked the American citizens to ‘familiarise’ themselves with the safety precautions they should adopt while in India.

The message said that a number of anti-Western terrorist groups were believed to be operating in India. It said that Islamic extremist groups such as the Harkat-ul-Mujahiddin, the Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Lashkar-e-Taiba were operating in India.

It advised the U.S. citizens to monitor local television and print media about the current situation in areas where they were travelling.
