Abbas takes pole

NUVEM (GOA): The fourth round of the MRF-MAI National karting championship is all set for a grand finish here on Sunday.

After the qualifying round here on Saturday, Abbas Ghadially of Speed Rayo Racing took the pole position in the seniors’ category, while current leader on points after three rounds, Ameya Walvalkar of Mohites Racing will start from the second position.

A total of 14 karts will come under the starters’ flag in the seniors’ section.

Ameya currently has a 24-point lead over Rayomand Banajee.

Ameya, who has never been beaten on the Nuvem track, would be looking to extend his lead, while Rayomand desperately needs to bridge the gap on the points table. — Special Correspondent
