Malappuram all set for bypoll

MALAPPURAM: Byelections to four local body divisions in the district will be held on Monday. The results, however, will not bring about any change in the current power positions in the civic bodies.

Byelections are being held at Olavattur division of Kondotty block panchayat, Erikkamanna division of Ponnani municipality, Eravaramkunnu division of Alankode panchayat and Edakkulam division of Tirunavaya panchayat. The quitting of K.N. Shamina from Olavattur division of Kondotty block panchayat after she landed a government job necessitated the byelection in this ward reserved for women.
