Andhra Pradesh
The most obnoxious jibes like ‘shut up’, ‘I will see your end’ have become common now a days in State politics. Precious time is being wasted on unwanted and unnecessary bickering like this during every Assembly session. As a result, most of the burning problems pertaining to the rural poor, are being left in the lurch. Therefore, our leaders are appealed to conduct themselves in a most dignified way to protect the prestigious sheen and image of the seat of higher decision-making to maintain decorum of the House. I. Subhash Samuel Ulavapadu, Prakasam dist Sex education not necessaryEducation coupled with strict discipline and hard work should be the aim of all educational institutions. The education should inculcate steadfast determination in learning good things with pre-fixed targets. But, it is not necessary to introduce sex education as part of curriculum at high school level. Instead, the young minds should be moulded in such a way that they should not think of marriage till they attain academic or professional targets. The government should aim at imparting moral values rather than imposing sex education. M. Blessing Moses Penumantra, West Godavari Unfair practiceIn the recent days it has become routine practice for government officials to enter into politics. It is not proper on the part of officials who are aspiring to reap the benefits of being a pensioner and as an elected representative. Most of them are entering into politics for their personal benefits. If they really wanted to serve the people, they should forego the benefits of a pensioner. It is time to make a legislation in this regard. B.V. Subrahmanya Sastry Bapatla, Guntur district Power thirstyIt is most unfortunate that veteran politician and former Prime Minister Deve Gowda is making a mockery of democracy in Karnataka by his dilly-dally tactics and power greediness. The people are misfortunate to have such politicians. None can guess how many times he extends and withdraws support to its ex-partner BJP to form the government in Karnataka. People of Karnataka are vexed with all the political parties in Karnataka. Governor Rameshwar Thakur should not give chance to any political party to form the government and recommend dissolution of the Karnataka Assembly. Addanki Srinivasa Rao Ongole All for personal gainsMillions of people watched the ‘cockfight’ scenes in the AP Legislative Assembly session recently. It is sad that the honourable members of Assembly indulge themselves freely without fear or respect for the people who have elected them. They should remember that they are wasting huge public money wilfully for their personal gains. The main opposition party TDP that, of late, appreciated the need for fixation of minimum support price for paddy, gave no importance to agriculture while it was in power. The contentious issues like MSP and agriculture should not be used for their personal gains. N.V. Rama Rao Bhimavaram, West Godavari
