dated November 26, 1957: Japan on India

In an interview to PTI, Dr. Hiroshi Nasu, newly-appointed Japanese Ambassador to India, expressed his conviction in Tokyo on November 24 that not only would greater political cooperation be possible between the two countries in future, but that India and Japan “can cooperate most thoroughly” in contributing to the peaceful development of civilisation. The Ambassador paid a tribute to India’s planners for the balanced manner in which the two Five-Year Plans had been evolved, giving importance to rural development, side by side with industrial development. The Ambassador, one of Japan’s top experts in the field of agricultural economy, plans to leave for his new post in the middle of December.
