Left looking for political alternative: Narayana
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: CPI State secretary K. Narayana said that the Left parties were looking out for a ‘political alternative’ and not necessarily a third front in the State.
The objective of the Left in trying to be united and carry along vulnerable sections was not to grab power, but build a strong movement to find political solution to the problems faced by exploited people, Dr. Narayana told a meeting with the theme ‘Launch of third front – necessity’ organised by BC Ikya Sangharshana Samiti and Sarvajana United Front on Sunday.
He wanted issue-based struggles to give shape to a political alternative.
Concern expressed
Reiterating its resolve to build a third alternative through mass struggles, the CPI State council has expressed concern over the economic policies of successive governments that caused distress among the poor.
“The economic policies are insufficient to meet the aspirations of different sections of society,” CPI MP Azeez Pasha said.
He was participating in a seminar on ‘Alternative to Congress-Telugu Desam’ organised by the party .
