“Tourism has to be environmentally sustainable with global climate change”

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The main challenge in achieving a tourism vision for Delhi in 2020 would be to bring the city environmentally to internationally acceptable standards, says Sanat Kaul, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation. This would involve proper garbage disposal, sewage treatment and providing the residents, a clean and beautiful river front.

Elaborating on his ideas, Mr. Kaul said: “Tourism has to be environmentally sustainable with global climate change. We also need to consider carbon emission and provide clean air and water to our citizens which involves improving sewage treatment also.”
