Two more bodies recovered

Kanhangad: The toll in the drowning incident at Moonamkadavu, near here, has risen to three with the recovery of bodies of the two missing youths, police said on Sunday.

A group of eight former students of Periyar Polytechnic Institute had ventured into the river for taking bath on Saturday when one of them, Bijulal, 21, drowned and two others went missing.

The body of Vineeth, 21, was recovered by local people around 10 a.m. while that of Sajith, 22, was traced late last night by Fire Force personnel near the mishap spot.

Bijulal and Vineeth hailed from Uduma while Sajith from nearby Thachangad. – PTI
