Woman murdered

Tiruchi: A 38-year old woman was allegedly murdered by her brother at Cholama Nagar near Navalpattu on Saturday night. The victim has been identified as M. Muthulakshmi. Her younger brother M. Sakthivel (30) was arrested in connection with the murder. Police said Sakthivel had been demanding from his sister the documents relating to the property of their grandfather which the latter had taken away with her. Irked over this, Sakthivel allegedly killed his sister by smothering her. The body was found near a tank. The Navalpattu police are investigating.
Passport fraud
Immigration sleuths held an air passenger at the airport here on Saturday after they found that he had allegedly obtained the passport under a false name.
The accused Balakrishnan, who arrived here from Singapore, was later arrested by the Airport Police. Police said Balakrishnan, a native of Pattukottai, had obtained the passport under the false name of Balu and giving Kamaraj Nagar in Tiruchi as his place of stay.
