TIRUPATI: Bus journey to the abode of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala will now have a musical touch! It is all set to spur spiritual awakening in devotees and create the divine ambience right from the foot of the hills. Divine atmosphereWith the APSRTC and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) managements joining hands to install audio systems in all the buses plying on the Tirumala ghat road, the compositions of saint-poet Annamayya will be played continuously throughout the 45-minute journey to introduce the passengers to the divine and serene atmosphere on the hills. APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director V. Dinesh Reddy formally got the Sony MP3 audio system inaugurated by a devotee in a couple of Tirumala-bound buses at the Central Bus Station complex on Sunday along with TTD Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy and let the speakers blare out the divine numbers. He said that the facility would be extended in phases to all the 962 buses plying on the Tirumala ghat road. Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating the renovated bus station complex, he said that the complex was modernised at a cost of Rs.70 lakh, as the temple city, with an average daily traffic of 90,000 passengers, deserved all-round development and better upkeep. He pointed out that 71 additional services had been introduced to Tirumala recently. RTC Executive Director U. Sudhakar Rao and Regional Manager M.S. Prakasa Rao were present.
