Inquiry into illicit liquor case
Staff Correspondent
HASSAN: Justice Sadashiva visited Bage, Srirama Nagar and Golagonde villages in Sakleshpur taluk on Saturday and met the families of those who had accidentally consumed illicit liquor on April 24, 2005, which had resulted in 13 people dying and 24 falling seriously ill.
The liquor had been prepared from methanol and arrack. Following this, some had lost vision.
Most of them were workers.
Mr. Sadashiva enquired into their quality of life and sought details on the identity of the arrack vendors.
Mr. Sadashiva told presspersons that he would submit his report within two months.
In October, the District and Sessions Judge acquitted all the 16 accused in the case.
